Eggnog
Ingredients:
⅓ cup of sugar
2 egg yolks
¼ teaspoon salt
4 cups milk (use dry packaged and mix with water)
1 teaspoon vanilla or
2 tablespoons sherry
2 egg whites
3 tablespoons sugar
1½ teaspoons sugar
½ cup heavy cream
Instructions:
Origin of recipe: This is a recipe we make traditionally on Christmas Eve (none of that carton eggnog with us!) Rose Pietroforte Amoroso made this for her family every Christmas and the Bingers have carried on that tradition. Actually, for the past several years, it has become Wendy’s specialty and hers is as good as Grandma’s. Cousin Jason
Amoroso asked for it in 2001, when he moved to California, and he now makes it also…so folks on both coasts now enjoy this recipe. Once you have tried this homemade version, you will never want to drink the carton stuff again!
